Privacy Policy

Last revised August 24, 2026

This policy explains how Threded LLC, a Michigan limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use threded at threded.xyz (the "Service"). threded is a personal styling service: you tell us your sizes and what you like, and each week a stylist persona selects a small edit of clothing for you and explains why each piece works.

This policy covers residents of the United States. The Service is intended for use in the United States and is not directed at people in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

1. Personal information we collect

  1. 1.1

Account information. Your email address and name, and your profile photograph if you have one. Authentication is handled by Clerk. We never see or store your password.

  2. 1.2

Your styling profile. The answers you give during onboarding and in settings: the garment sizes you usually buy (such as a top size, waist, inseam, and shoe size), a height band and a weight band chosen from fixed ranges rather than exact figures, how loose or fitted you like things, the occasions you dress for, the brands you follow, and an optional free-text note about a garment you already love. We do not ask for, and do not store, measured body dimensions such as a chest or sleeve measurement.

  3. 1.3

Your activity in the Service. Pieces you save, cuts we have generated for you and their narration, the deal digests we have sent you, what you type into the Explore search field, and which recommended pieces you click. The last two are kept to understand whether those features are useful.

  4. 1.4

Information from signing in with Google. If you choose to continue with Google, Google shares a standard set of profile information with us, typically your name, email address, and profile photograph. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access anything else in your Google account.

  5. 1.5

Information collected automatically. Standard server and request information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and timestamps. We use no third-party web analytics service and no advertising trackers.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

We keep this deliberately small, which is why there is no separate cookie document. The Service sets cookies that are strictly necessary to sign you in and keep you signed in, placed by our authentication provider. We also store your light or dark theme preference in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site trackers, and we do not permit third parties to place advertising cookies through the Service.

Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is nothing for an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control to opt out of. Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal; there is no accepted standard for responding to it, and we do not respond to it.

3. How we use your personal information

  1. 3.1

Providing the Service. To create and maintain your account, to select and describe the clothing we show you, to generate the narrated weekly cut and the deal digest, to filter the catalogue to things available in your size, and to respond to you when you contact us.

  2. 3.2

Automated selection and description. The core of the Service is automated. We send a model provider a description of your styling profile, including your first name, size labels, height and weight bands, chosen occasions, and any note you wrote, together with a set of candidate garments drawn from our catalogue. The model chooses from that validated set and writes the accompanying commentary. It cannot invent a product. A second provider converts the resulting script into audio. This processing produces styling suggestions only. It has no legal or similarly significant effect on you.

  3. 3.3

Improving the Service. To understand which features are used and which are not, and to diagnose faults. We do not use your personal information to train or fine-tune any machine learning model.

  4. 3.4

Security and compliance. To protect the Service and our users, to enforce our Terms, to investigate suspected misuse, and to comply with legal obligations or valid legal process.

  5. 3.5

Aggregated and de-identified data. We may create aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be linked to you, and use it for lawful business purposes. We do not attempt to re-identify it, except to test that our de-identification works.

4. How we share your personal information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only in these circumstances.

  1. 4.1

Service providers. Companies that run parts of the Service on our behalf, under contract and only for that purpose: our authentication provider, our database and application platform, the model providers that generate your styling commentary and its narration audio, our error-monitoring provider, and our hosting provider.

  2. 4.2

The brands we link to. None. When you click through to buy something, you leave the Service and arrive at that brand's own website as an ordinary visitor. We do not tell the brand who you are, what we recommended, or that you came from us with any identifier attached. Once you are on their site, their privacy policy governs.

  3. 4.3

Legal and safety. If required by law or valid legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of anyone.

  4. 4.4

Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, including during diligence. We would give you notice of any such change in control of your personal information.

5. Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is open, and afterwards only as long as needed for the purposes described here, including resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal obligations. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your profile, your saved pieces, the cuts and digests generated for you, and the associated activity records.

6. Your choices

  1. 6.1

Review and update your information. You can see and change your sizes, fit preferences, occasions, and brands at any time in Settings.

  2. 6.2

Close your account and delete your data. Email us at legal@threded.xyz and we will close your account and delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to any records we must keep by law.

  3. 6.3

Declining to provide information. The styling profile is how the Service works: without sizes we cannot tell you what fits, and without preferences we cannot choose well. You can leave optional fields blank, and the quality of the recommendations will reflect that.

  4. 6.4

Google sign-in. You can disconnect the Service from your Google account in your Google account settings. That stops further sharing but does not undo what we have already received.

7. State privacy rights

Several U.S. states give their residents rights over personal information, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others. These rights are not absolute and not every state grants all of them, so we may decline a request where the law permits. Where they apply to us, you may:

  1. 7.1

Know. Ask what categories of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purpose, and the categories of third parties we share it with. This policy answers all of those, and we will confirm the specifics for your account on request.

  2. 7.2

Access. Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

  3. 7.3

Correct. Ask us to correct inaccurate personal information. Most of it you can correct yourself in Settings.

  4. 7.4

Delete. Ask us to delete the personal information we collected from you.

  5. 7.5

Appeal. Appeal a denial of any validly submitted request.

  6. 7.6

Opt out of targeted advertising. We do not process personal information for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.

  7. 7.7

Opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, within the meaning of these laws.

  8. 7.8

Opt out of profiling. We use automated processing to choose and describe clothing for you, as described above. It does not produce legal or similarly significant effects. If you would prefer not to be subject to it, the Service cannot function without it, so the remedy is to close your account.

  9. 7.9

Sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as those laws define it. We collect no precise geolocation, no government identifiers, no financial account details, no health, biometric, racial, ethnic, religious, or sexual-orientation data. Garment sizes and the height and weight bands you choose are not sensitive personal information under these laws.

  10. 7.10

Nondiscrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email legal@threded.xyz from the address on your account. Because the Service is online only and our relationship with you is direct, email is the way to reach us; we do not operate a phone line. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we may ask you to confirm control of the account email. You may use an authorized agent, in which case we may ask for proof of their authority.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transport, an authentication provider that holds credentials rather than us, and access controls that scope every request to the signed-in account. No internet service can be perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.

9. Other sites and services

The Service links to websites operated by others, in particular the online stores of the brands whose clothing we show. A link is not an endorsement and does not mean we are affiliated with them. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

10. International data transfer

We are based in the United States and our service providers may operate in other countries. Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or elsewhere, where privacy laws may differ from those in your state or country.

11. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it as the law requires.

12. Changes to this policy

We may change this policy. If the changes are material we will tell you, by email or by a prominent notice in the Service, and we will always update the revision date at the top. Changes take effect when posted unless we say otherwise.
